Each object in nature is individual and unique. I look at grasses, flowers, and seaweeds and try to capture their beauty and combine them in a unique and playful world. Flowers bloom in the dark or commune with the stars. A powerful sun orchestrates plants growing behind a garden wall. Salish seaweeds move gently through a dark seabed, and bull kelp dance as they seek sunlight.
My aim is for each piece to evoke a feeling of hope and joy - for the viewer to delight in nature and the struggles and wonders of being alive.
